| Georgetown is located in eastern Prince Edward Island, on a peninsula that is approximately 2.5 km. x 11 km. The Town and its harbor are on the south side of the peninsula, and is bounded on the north by the Cardigan River, and on the south by the Brudenell and Montague Rivers, commonly referred to as the Three Rivers Area as depicted by the red dot in the Map of P.E.I. below |

| The Town overlooks one of the finest natural harbors in Atlantic Canada, due to its deep waters and shelter from the open sea. Beaches around the peninsula are of typical riverfront quality, and are suitable for numerous water-related activities.
As part of two scenic drives - the Kings Byway and the Bays and Dunes Drive - Georgetown offers the traveler a leisurely pace. The presence of lush trees that line the streets of the County Capital provides aesthetically pleasant surroundings that enhance the charming historical and modern facets of the community. The Kings Byway is on Route 3 - a well maintained Provincial highway - and the Bays and Dunes Drive takes you through quaint back roads which reveal alluring and rustic scenery. Buildings in the Town reveal the area's historical nature and its modern reality. Almost one half of all residential units were built prior to 1950, with approximately one third of all buildings 75 years or older. Georgetown is: Only 108 km. from the Confederation Bridge A 35-minute drive from Charlottetown on Route 3 East A 30-minute drive from the Wood Island Ferry, following Route 315 North to Montague, then Route 4 North to Poole's Corner, and Route 3 East to Georgetown A 40-minute drive from the Souris Ferry, following Route 2 from Souris to Dingwell Mills, and Route 4 South from Dingwell Mills to Cardigan. Follow from Cardigan on Route 313 South until you come to Route 342 or Route 3 East. A five-minute drive from Brudenell Provincial Golf Course, one of the Island's great golf courses. Presently, work is being done to expand the site by another 18 holes, and it will be ready by 1999. Approximately 100 incorporated and unincorporated areas are within a 20 km.
