Prince Edward Island carvings and Seaglass Jewelry is available at the Georgetown studio and store of artist Peter Llewellyn, a sixth generation Prince Edward Islander, who blends his passion using signature Island sandstone, genuine beach glass, smooth soapstone, and South American serpentine in his creations. No visit to Prince Edward Island is complete without a visit to Peter’s studio, it is definitely a highlight and the one of the top things to do while on the island.
The Shoreline Design Studio was featured in the book "Prince Edward Island Book of Musts--The 101 Places Every Islander Must See" by Erin J. Moore. The July 2007 issue of Lifestyle Magazine also highlighted Peter’s seaglass jewelry as "One of the top 10 must have souvenirs in the Maritimes."
Hand-picked sea glass, which is naturally sculpted into smooth elegant forms by the ocean's currents, tides, and sand is what Peter uses to make memorable pieces of unique jewelry. He blends fine silver with the natural glass formations to produce one-of-a-kind necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets.
Peter's unique carvings feature PEI culture in the form of local birds, seals, bears, sailing ships, and lighthouses. Each is born from authentic PEI sandstone, rich in iron. Stopping in to visit with Peter and watch as he creatively interprets his surroundings at his waterfront studio. Peter's work comes in various sizes suitable for modern travelers.
The Shoreline Design Studio is located at 40 Water Street, Georgetown, PEI. You can also see Peter's work featured at The Craft Shop--along with other artists--a few doors down at the corner of Kent and Water streets. Peter's remarkable carvings and sea glass jewelry are offered for sale at both locations.
